The Ukranian international had agreed terms on a move to the Reebok Stadium last week but red tape over work permits meant that the former £11 million striker will continue to play his football in Turkey with Fenerbache who also want shut of the former Dynamo Kiev player.
"We'll have a look at him in action to see how he's shaping up because there's a chance of getting him in January" Allardyce said
