Bolton Wanderers reserve team duo Jeff Smith and Cleveland Taylor have joined Third Division Scunthorpe United on one month loan deals in time for their weekend clash with Bury.
Both players featured during the Wanderers 2-1 defeat against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night and Iron boss Brian Laws moved swiftly to add the pair to his squad where they will be accompanied by another loanee in Middlesbrough's Phil Gulliver who has also joined for a similar spell.
It is thought that today's triple departure which also saw Anthony Barness move to West Ham United will free up funds for manager Sam Allardyce to bring in a defender and a midfielder before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
