Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that they are about to conclude a deal to sign Jamaican international goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts who has spent the last month on trial at the Reebok Stadium.
The 26-year old, who is Jamaica's number one custodian, will join compatriots Ricardo Gardner and Jermaine Johnson in the Bolton squad subject to a work permit when the transfer window opens in January having impressed the Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce and goalkeeping coach Fred Barber during his short stint at the club.
Ricketts has been playing for Village United in his homeland and saw a previous move to Leyton Orient fall through last year due to work permit problems but his performance for the Reggae Boyz against Brazil at the Walkers Stadium in October prompted both Rushden & Diamonds and the Wanderers to take a further look at the player who stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall.
