The Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce set up talks in a Manchester hotel with the former AC Milan and Barcelona player nearly a month ago and looked to have sealed the ambitious swoop but late interest from Celtic plus interference from a number of agents put the two year verbal agreement in the balance.
It has been a case of "will he" or "won't he" for the past two weeks and Allardyce has become increasingly frustrated with the lack of contact which the Brazilian has made in recent weeks. The Bolton boss was ready to pull the plug on the deal but it seems the World Cup winner has saved him the bother by switching his destination preference to Parkhead.
