Ex-Wanderers midfielder Mark Patterson, who is manager of the Railwaymen moved to sign the former Wanderers duo last week to add to the Hilton Park ranks.
Experienced Midfielder Roscoe, now 30, joined Wanderers in 1991 from Liverpool but only made half a dozen appearances for the Trotters before being sold to Rotherham United in 1994, he has since turned out for Mansfield Town and more latterly Exeter City, whom he was with last season prior to their relegation to the Nationwide Conference. The Liverpool-born midfielder Roscoe, is expected to replace Jamie Milligan after Patterson decided against signing the former Everton and Blackpool player from Macclesfield Town.
Meanwhile 20-year old striker/winger Downey was released by the Wanderers at the end of the 2002-2003 season following only one breif substitute appearance in the 2000-2001 season. The Warrington born youngster has also spent time out on loan in China with Shangkeng Marine who at the time where being managed by another ex-Wanderer Trevor Morgan.
