Swiss international Roth has already been on trial with Bolton with a view to a possible summer move to the Reebok Stadium but he says any potential switch will depend on Jaaskelainen's future with the Trotters.
The 27-year old is currently with French club Lorient on a short term basis after leaving debt-ridden Swiss club Servette last month but says his advisors are paving the way for a move to Bolton.
"I have contacts at an advanced stage with Bolton. I spent one week there in January. We didn't enter into anything because it will all depend on my future performances and the possible departure of their Finnish keeper in June but it is on the right path." said Roth.
