Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Arsenal striker Kanu was amongst his list of summer targets but he has ruled out any move for the former Ajax player after his wage demands proved to be a little bit out of the Wanderers reach meaning that Ukrainian striker Sergei Rebrov is still the top target.
Responding to last weekend's speculation that Allardyce was going to make a fresh move for the Nigerian international Kanu, he did admit an interest in the player but he said any deal was too expensive for the club to persue.
"We where interested in the player but in the end the overall package proved to be too expensive. I doubt we will renew our interest as at this moment in time its not within our reach financially" said Allardyce
