Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce today spoke of his disappointment at being fined for his comments towards Yorkshire referee Mike Riley during a post match interview after the 2004 Carling Cup Final in February.
The Wanderers boss has been ordered to pay £1,500 and warned about his future conduct by the Football Association after being critical of Riley for allowing a number of key decisions to go against Bolton during the Final but now the Trotters cheif could be set to form an appeal against the charges which have been brought against him.
"Our case was exceptionally good and the commission accepted that I had not brought the game into disrepute. The commission found that my comments were not in the best interests of the game. I am disappointed that I was found guilty and will of course consider the way forward from here." Allardyce said
