Sam Allardyce has praised his Bolton Wanderers team after their fightback at Arsenal yesterday which saw them claim a deserved point thanks to a Henrik Pedersen's volley six minutes from time.
Allardyce was delighted in the way his players have handled a difficult week which has seen them face title chasers Arsenal and Chelsea in the space of a week as well as a tough game against Southampton in the League Cup in midweek, all three tests the team passed with flying colours.
Speaking of the clash with the Gunners the Bolton boss was full of praise for his players.
"From our point of view I thought we where unbeleivable. To carry on where we left off at Fulham in terms of performance, and then to take that level into the Chelsea game and the Carling Cup at Southampton was amazing. I'm sure that Arsenal must have thought our players where tired" Allardyce said
The Bolton boss also praised yesterday's goalscorer Henrik Pedersen both for his efforts yesterday and for those of the last few matches which has seen the Dane thrust back into the limelight.
"Henrik scored a brilliant goal with a shot from the edge of the box. The main reason why I put him on was because of how he's been playing in recent games. One of the reasons he's been left on the bench is because he hasn't been scoring, at the moment he has turned that around. It was an unbeleivable goal both for him and us. Overall, from our point of view, it was a fantastic performance under very difficult conditions against a top quality side" added Allardyce
