Sam Allardyce has praised his Bolton Wanderers team for the character that they have shown in recent matches and hopes that this renewed confidence will help them cement their place in the top half of the Premiership table.
Wanderers are so far undefeated throughout January having won against Premiership champions Arsenal at the weekend, this being quite a contrast to a month ago when the team did not win at all throughout the month of December.
"The players have shown everyone what character they have. They have been through a hugely difficult period and come bouncing back." he told the official site
"That win against Arsenal gives everyone a lift and the confidence to push on a claim a place in the top half. That is where we want to stay."
Bolton now face two local derbies in quick succession as they look to preserve their unbeaten start to 2005, firstly, they head to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers in the Premiership, and then six days later they face a potential banana skin in the FA Cup tie at League One side Oldham Athletic.
