The 49-year old is five years into his existing contract at the Reebok Stadium with the club recently offering a new and improved contract due to interest from Newcastle United last month. The new deal is set to take the ex-Blackpool and Notts County boss past his 55th birthday after which he said he will be retiring from the game.
Allardyce has already seen a number of moves for players fall through during the summer due to contract terms being altered by the club's board and he is adament that the same will not happen to him.
"The basis of the contract is sorted out, it's just the legal jargon,It is now a question of whether they want to exchange the wording of the existing contract. If they start tinkering about there is big trouble." he told SKY
