Allardyce will be boosted by the news and can now hopefully build his side around the the like of Jay-Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff, Bernard Mendy, Florent Laville, Ivan Campo, Pierre-Yves Andre and Salva Ballesta.
"We have spent a lot of money building the squad we have and we are going to continue doing that. We have spent a lot in wages," Gartside told BBC Radio Five Live.
"We are not going to have pots of money to spend on transfers, but who has?"
"It is a great relief we can keep this team together," Allardyce said.
"We can start the enormous task next week of trying to secure what we have got.
"We will look at all the players on our books and once that is done and dusted, look at other players who could come in."
