According to reports Bolton Wanderers are one of three clubs rumoured to be monitoring the situation of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gustavo Poyet after it was discussed that the former Chelsea player may not be offered a new deal beyond this season.
Ourselves, Fulham and Portsmouth are keeping tabs on the status of the 35-year old playmaker who joined Spurs in 2001 for £2,250,000 from their London rivals Chelsea.
Also played for Real Zaragoza, River Plate and Grenoble it is highly unlikely that any decision will be made on the players future at this stage of the season and all depends really on who Tottenham bring in as their successor to Glenn Hoddle as manager.
The player has however stated that now he is in the process of taking his coaching exams that maybe retirement from the playing side would be an option.
"I will try to finish at Tottenham. If something really nice happens, say I score more goals than I did two years ago and I think I'm on fire, then yes I will keep playing, but at the moment, I think this will be my last year."
