The 31-year-old midfielder will become a Bolton player on July 1 after signing a three-year contract at the Reebok, as he looks forward to a second spell in the English top-flight.
Speaking to the club's website, the manager said: "Idan will add extra attacking flair to a midfield that already contains quality.
"He reminds me of West Ham's Yossi Benayoun, and if he makes a similar impact on the Premier League as Benayoun and our own Tal Ben Haim have then we will have some player at our disposal."
The agent of the Maccabi Haifa winger also confirmed the Israeli's move to Bolton.
"Idan Tal will join Bolton in July upon completion of his contract with Haifa," Erez Malka told One.
