Recent signing Emerson Thome has been praised by Bolton Wanderers Assistant Manager Phil Brown for the difference he has made in his breif yet effective Bolton career to date following his move from Sunderland 10 days ago.

The Bolton coach beleives the former Sheffield Wednesday defender Thome has all the ingredients to become a succesful figure in the Wanderers immediate future and has praised his communication with the other members of the Trotters squad especially during the defenders debut against Charlton Athletic at the Reebok Stadium last month.

"We've looked at his performance in great detail". said Brown

"He's helped the back three and the goalkeeper immensely. His communication skills are there for everyone to see. He seems to be a winner, he seems to relish the defensive responsibility and, coupled with that, he seemed to relish playing alongside Florent Laville, which is a massive positive."

"Obviously the loss of Gudni Bergsson is one we've been trying to address and it looks like we are doing that. Emerson's a talker on the field, you can see that. And he can make his views known in Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese."
