Allardyce told the Bolton News: "We've had a big defeat against us, but we have to use it as a positive,
"Let's hope it kicks us into shape for Saturday. Let's have a good response."
"We've taken 20 points from the first 10 games, that's how I look at it now," he said.
"This is a big disappointment for the lads, because they wanted to do a lot better. But over the years Manchester United have always done well here and we've found it difficult to even get a draw, never mind anything else.
"Saturday was one of those days when we got nothing and deserved nothing."
