Everton are beleived to be rivaling Bolton Wanderers for the signature of Russian captain Viktor Onopko who looks set for a move to England during the January transfer window.
The experienced Onopko 34, who has 107 caps for his country, was indentified by Trotters manager Sam Allardyce as a player who he would like to bring to Bolton following his decision to move on from Alania Vladkavikaz when his contract expires
However the players starring role for his country has alerted a number of clubs to his availability and now it seems as if the Everton boss David Moyes may be temped to join the chase for the former Real Oviedo player who is also said to be attracting interest from numerous other clubs in England including Wolves and Sunderland following the veteran's decision to appoint an English based agent.
