Sam Allardyce is set to revive talks with Roma midfielder Oliver Dacourt and Abdoulaye Meite of Marseille.
Bolton boss Allardyce is anxiously waiting to hear how much he will have to spend in the January transfer window and has confirmed that Marseille's 25-year-old Ivory Coast centre-back, Abdoulaye Meite, is one of a number of players he is interested in signing.
"That is a possibility," Allardyce said, confirming his renewed interest in Meite.
"Come the January transfer window, it will all start again, but, for now, I'm still not sure what's available financially.
"I'll just have to wait for the chairman and Ed Davies (the owner) to tell me.
"Then I can get on and do something with it."
Meanwhile, Portsmouth left winger Laurent Robert has been linked again after he snubbed the Trotters in the summer for a move to the south coast.
