The Gunners midfielder will miss the club's next two matches after sustaining an ankle knock in a robust challenge with Robinson in last weekend's 4-1 win over Bolton.
Wenger felt Robinson should have been punished for the over-zealous challenge and that the FA should be doing more to protect his players in domestic action.
Coyle, who lost Gary Cahill to a red card in the game, has hit back stating that Kieran Gibbs could easily have been given an early bath for catching Kevin Davies from behind.
The Bolton boss also points to an incident last season when ex-Arsenal man William Gallas went unpunished for a tackle described as an 'assault' on Bolton's Mark Davies.
"I sent Arsene a text after the game to apologise for missing him as we had to catch a train back north," said Coyle. "He sent me back a text saying we were a very good team.
"I understand if people say things after games when a player gets injured. We all do that. I have no problem people having things to say. But if I am there, say it to my face.
"Maybe Arsenal know they were in a really tough game and that is a compliment.
"I could say Kieran Gibbs should have been booked and then sent off for going into the back of Kevin Davies. I like to think we have endeavour, commitment and quality.
"If we want to harp back, look at the tackle on Mark Davies by William Gallas last season. People have to give balance and look at their own team."
