It appeared for long periods last season as though the Trotters would secure a top-half finish, with Owen Coyle having steered them into European contention at one stage.
A late slump saw the club tumble into 14th place, but there is a feeling around the Reebok Stadium that the club can break into the top 10 this term if they can keep key men fit.
A bright start will help to put Coyle's men well on course to achieve that target but after the trip to QPR, Bolton will then play host to Manchester City, travel to Liverpool and welcome Manchester United to the Reebok in their next three fixtures.
Things do not get any easier from there, with newly-promoted Norwich, Arsenal and Chelsea next to pit their wits against the Trotters.
Newcastle will provide the opposition on Boxing Day, before another testing run of fixtures arrives in the New Year.
A trip to Stoke on the final day will see Bolton complete their 2011/12 schedule.
