However this signing, if it goes that far, may be in doubt already because of Football Association rule about foreign players joining the English Premier League.
A club spokesman told The Asian Football Confederation, "We received offers from several clubs in Qatar, Turkey, Bundesliga and Bolton, but we decided in favour of Bolton as they gave the highest offer. We also prefer to see him play with a European club."
Meanwhile, the deal to bring Olympique Marseille defender Abdoulaye Meite to Bolton is now back on.
The Trotters have agreed a £1million fee with LOM for the Ivory Coast international, but talks stalled during the World Cup. The Times says Meite expects to move to Bolton for the coming season.
