Former Bolton Wanderers utility player Paul Warhurst has returned to the club on a short-term deal just two months after originally being released on a Free Transfer by the Trotters.

The experienced former Sheffield Wednesday, Oldham Athletic and Blackburn Rovers player has been offered a lifeline by the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce who beleives that if the 33-year old stays fit then he will be an asset to the squad.

Warhurst, was originally signed by former manager Colin Todd from Crystal Palace in November 1998 but had numerous injury problems during his first spell at the Reebok Stadium. However the player has started to train with his old collegues and Allardyce has said he finds it hard to beleive that a player with such experience has found it hard to find a club.

"I can't beleive he hasn't got fixed up with a club. He's a fantastic asset to the squad if he stays fit" said Allardyce.

Warhurst was linked to Stoke City and Bristol City over the summer as well as a short stint training with former club Oldham Athletic. Bolton MAD wishes him well during his second spell at the club and hopes he can stay injury free.
