Former Bolton Wanderers utility player Paul Warhurst has rejoined former club Oldham Athletic with a view to re-signing for the cash strapped Boundary Park outfit.
The 33-year old former Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Crystal Palace player left the Reebok Stadium after four years on a Free Transfer over the summer and he is looking to find a new club for the new season possibly at the club where he first joined back in 1988 as an 18-year old.
It is no secret that Latics boss Iain Dowie needs new players with experience to add to his depleted squad having lost the likes of Fitz Hall, Josh Low and Wayne Andrews over the summer and Warhurst, a big favourite under the Joe Royle regime at Oldham, will be training with our Lancashire neighbours to see if he has fully recovered from recent injury problems.
Warhurst was popular amongst Bolton fans for his commited play and tough tackling as well as invaluable versitality but the fact he was injured a lot of the time meant we didnt get to see the best of him. Still however managed over 100 games for the club but unfortunately didnt score. Also had a five game loan spell with Stoke City last season where he ironically scored.
All at Trotters MAD wish Paul the best of luck in his future
