Bolton Wanderers captain Jay-Jay Okocha has praised his team mates for their efforts during last night's Carling Cup win over Liverpool in which a last minute Youri Djorkaeff penalty was enough to dump out the holders and send Wanderers through to the last eight of the competition.
Okocha once again played a starring role in the Bolton midfield and managed to open his goalscoring account for the season when he curled a superb free kick around Reds keeper Jerzy Dudek with ten minutes remaining.
"It was a deserved victory. I think Liverpool played alright but if you look at the way we defended, we where brilliant, our defence has been brilliant of late" he said
"With a difficult game against Fulham coming up on Saturday we didn't want Extra Time at all. We are now in the Quarter Final - its a big acheivement and we want to keep on going" he added
