Four defeats in six Barclays Premier League games have seen his side tumble into the bottom half of the table after a bright start to the campaign. The latest setback came on Monday with a 4-0 trouncing by Chelsea at the Reebok Stadium.
Coyle is looking for his team to cut out the errors on Saturday when they switch to FA Cup business and a home fourth-round tie against neighbours Wigan.
"We have to get back to what we are good at. That is working hard on the training ground, getting a smile on our face and going and showing our quality, " said the Bolton boss.
"We did not play badly against Chelsea. What happened was that every mistake we made we was severely punished. It is about the players believing and trusting in what they have done all season. We are not hiding behind anything - we have lost a few games we shouldn't have.
"So the only way to do that is work hard and look to get to your maximum on the pitch. If we do that we will start picking up wins again and that is just around the corner."
