"He's a centre-forward, he's 18 and he's 6ft 9ins," Trotters academy chief Chris Sulley said, revealing plans to offer the player a trial at the Reebok later this summer.
"He's got talent and I'd like to expose him to a higher standard and see how he copes."
On their partnership with Wuhan, Sulley also told the Bolton Evening News: "It's going to be a slow process.
"For a lot of people out there, the priority is to eat every day, but you can see that the growing wealth and the potential is unbelievable.
"In 2000 there was a big launch of professional clubs trying to put football schools in place, but they went about it the wrong way, looking for quick fix gains and it left a bad taste in the mouths of the hierarchy.
"The beauty of what we are doing is offering education alongside football, similar to how we work with our scholars.
"Both sides are doing it for the right reasons."
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough have been linked with Olympique Marseille defender Abdoulaye Meite.
Meite has also been a long-term target for Bolton and is considering his future in France.
