The striker revealed: "He only let us know after the game it was his birthday — so there was a bit of stick flying his way.
"It was a shame we couldn't have got to the 40-point mark. But now we have a couple of home games where we can finish the job off.
"At least the manager would be satisfied with our second half. But he had a few things to say about the first — you should have heard him at half-time."
