Bolton Wanderers Assistant Manager Phil Brown has confirmed that Youri Djorkaeff isn't with the rest of the squad on their training excersise in La Manga but has stressed that the former French international is spending time recuperating from a recent injury ahead of the clubs next match with Manchester City.
The 35-year old will spend the next week in his homeland hoping to shake off the calf injury which kept him out of Sunday's draw with Aston Villa and Brown says the player is putting all his efforts into getting fit for the next game which is a local derby against City.
"Youri is concentrating his efforts on getting fit for the Manchester City game. He is not with us in Spain, but is spending time recuperating in France. We are hopeful that he'll be ready to resume training with the squad when we return next week. We are in contact with him on a daily basis and he tells me that he is feeling a lot better after the break." he told the clubs official site
