Defender Nicky Hunt and midfielder Kevin Nolan are the players picked out for special praise by World Cup winner Djorkaeff. Hunt has just been called up into the England U21 squad for the first time as the Three Lions prepare for a match against Holland at the Kingston Communications Stadium tommorow whilst Nolan is currently the club's top goalscorer with 10 in all competitions this season.
"Nicky Hunt and Kevin Nolan are the future of Bolton. It's very important this kind of player understands the mentality to be a professional, the mentality to win. And I think he (Hunt) is starting to understand. Maybe some players understand quickly, maybe some don't. What is important for Nicky is that he learns game after game and that is what he is doing."
The former Inter Milan star also says that he has seen the club grow in stature and reach new highs since his arrival in February 2002 from German club Kaiserslautern and says that everyone must be proud of the club's acheivements and it is something which the Youth Academy have also started to pick up on.
"When I came, the manager told me he wanted my help and I have enjoyed the deal, not just for what we have done in the games but for what we are doing with the kids from the Academy, who watch us in training."
