Aston Villa maintained their position at the top of the FA Premier Reserve League as two first half goals from Luke Moore and Peter Hynes where enough to defeat a young Bolton Wanderers side at the Bescot Stadium.
The only experienced name in the Bolton line up was Former Golden Boot winner Mario Jardel and it was he who had the first clear chance of the game when on six minutes he tested Villa's keeper Stefan Postma with a header which was to land in the Dutchman's grasp.
Luke Moore, playing alongside his brother Stefan in the Villa attack was the first person to breach the Wanderers defenders but he found that there was no way past the Trotters keeper Jeremy Bon.
However on 23 minutes he did find a way past Bon, Peter Hynes free-kick was spilled by the Frenchman allowing Moore to tap home the rebound to open the scoring for Kevin MacDonald's side.
Moore then returned the compliment on 43 minutes when he set up Hynes to rasp a thundering shot past the despairing Bon in the Bolton goal to make the scoreline 2-0.
Bon then kept the scoreline down for the Wanderers with a string of good saves from the Moore brothers whilst at the other end Academy youngster Ricardo Vaz Te had a chance to reduce the defacit for the Trotters but he could not find a way past Postma.
The game earmarkes a continued presence at the top of the league for Villa but in turn it spells more concerns for the Wanderers who's performances in the FA Reserve League this season have been far from what was expected.
