Bolton Wanderers reserves found themselves once again on the end of defeat against a West Bromwich Albion reserve side who are now unbeaten in three FA Premier Reserve League matches.
The night at the Hawthorns proved to be a nightmare for the Bolton keeper Jeremy Bon who saw three goals sail past him in a pretty one sided encounter which Gary Shelton's men deserved to win in a season which has seen Neil McDonald's Bolton side pick up just one win in the league all season.
Albion took the lead on three minutes from the spot when Senegal international Alassane N'Dour converted the penalty after Wanderers keeper Bon had fouled Adam Chambers in a race for the ball.
Glen Little and Ibrahim Ba both had early chances to equalise for the Trotters but they found goalkeeper Daniel Crane in fine form in the Albion goal as the youngster seemed to be equal to anything Bolton threw at him.
Albion responded with an excellent 20-yard drive from Simon Brown and the youngster was unlucky to see his effort sail over the crossbar much to the releif of the 19-year old Frenchman Bon in the Wanderers goal
Little had another chance for Bolton on the half hour but the on loan Burnley midfielder saw his shot curl wide of Crane's post. Adam Chambers then had a chance to notch a second for the Baggies but for a last ditch tackle by young Bolton defender Charlie Comyn-Platt.
Ibrahim Ba could of equalised for the Lancashire side shortly before the interval. Crane's misplaced clearance fell to the former French international but he was unable to put enough power behind the ball to trouble the young goalkeeper.
Six minutes after half time Albion went 2-0 in front, Adam Chambers finally got on the scoresheet with a neatly placed header following good work from Lloyd Dyer and Phil Midworth.
On 58 minutes came the third final killer blow, Adam Chambers was once again involved as he burst into the box, Bolton defender Jeff Smith then had the misfortune to divert the ball past his own goalkeeper after both he and Ba had failed to communicate in clearing their lines.
On 68 minutes Wanderers pulled a goal back to reduce the deficit. Glen Little netted his first goal in Bolton colours when he fired past the Baggies goalkeeper from a tight angle.
Bolton where determined to get back into the game but their determination came too little, too late. Little had once again the chance to score but missed from ten yards out whilst substitute Ricardo Vaz Te had an effort cleared off the line by N'Dour and minutes later saw his shot come back off the post following good work by fellow substitute Ricky Shakes.
